Welcome. This blog is about photography and other things that keep me busy like sailing, astronomy, navigation and my family. And it is the discussion section to my portfolio website, which I really hope you visit. It can be found at:

Who am I? My name is Mark Duehmig and I have been taking photographs for almost 25 years. My mom was an artist and my dad is an engineer, and I have three older brothers who helped influence my interest both technology and creativity. All of this has been helpful, if not critical, in my photography.

And I’ve been around. I’ve carried my camera to thirty one countries across six continents. I’ve taken photos on the ocean, in the middle of deserts, in big cities and remote wilderness. (And while I’ve not been to Antarctica yet, I was in Tierra del Fuego which is a stone’s throw.)

I’ve also been to 49 states in the US. -Wyoming is the one I haven’t visited since that is the next logical question. For some reason, my travels have never taken me to Wyoming. I also intend to fix that.
